Building an ethical, responsible and sustainable environment, lyntia’s ESG goals

At lyntia, we believe growth involves bringing countries closer together, uniting cities, connecting businesses and putting people in contact with one another. As such, our vision is to create networks that connect us to tomorrow – promoting, facilitating and protecting communications through fibre optic networks, satellite services and co-location throughout Spain.

In line with this vision, we want to put even more focus on guaranteeing an ethical, responsible and sustainable service by introducing an ambitious ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) plan, which represents an unequivocal declaration of our total commitment to society

lyntia’s ESG plan is based around five fundamental pillars:

1. Corporate Governance

Good corporate governance is the first key to developing an ethical and responsible business. Our commitments in this area can be summarised as follows:

– Incorporating key indicators of corporate social responsibility in reporting to our board of directors.

– Guaranteeing compliance with privacy and data protection regulations.

– Strengthening our security and that of our customers with a robust cybersecurity programme.

– Maintaining the principles of network neutrality.

2. Society

Through lyntia’s mainly technical role, we put everything in place in order to:

Respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

Play an active role in projects with high social impact. This includes projects that make technology accessible to everyone – such as the digitalisation of schools – as well as others aimed at saving lives, as in the case of the Oxyvita Project, which we’ve tackled together with Ennomotive and other partners to develop cost-effective ventilators.

3. People

We’re entirely aware that our team’s commitment is the true catalyst of lyntia’s value. In this way, our focusses include:

Promoting diversity, equality and inclusion as drivers of value for the entire organisation. Topics such as diversity, integration and recognition of individual merit are just some of the distinguishing features of lyntia’s identity. We firmly believe these are key components in adding value to a constantly evolving environment and, as such, we’ve designed and strictly adhere to our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy. Furthermore, we’ve undertaken a demanding Equality Plan Project that has prepared us not only to face this important responsibility from a human point of view, but also to comply with the regulatory requirements anticipated in future.

Promoting professional development in two key areas: on our teams, through innovative training and development programmes, and in relation to developing future talent within society through various collaborative agreements with different educational centres, both for vocational training and in universities.

– Ensuring the reconciliation of family and work life for our people, applying multiple measures in a number of areas (remote working, flexibility, etc.).

– Amplifying and strengthening measures to safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of the people we work with and their families.

4. Environment

None of the above will be possible in future without ensuring environmental sustainability. For that very reason, we seek to make efficient use of the resources we need in the course of our operations:

Tracking our impact on climate change by calculating and recording our carbon footprint with the Spanish Ministry of the Energy Transition.

– Developing ways of reducing our carbon footprint, such as introducing renewable energies to our production processes, as well as incorporating efficiency indicators in our activities.

5. Supply Chains

We also want to expand the influence of our social commitments beyond our own premises, that’s why we also work hard to extend the relevant ESG criteria to our entire supply chain by applying our responsible supplier and outsourcing policy.

At lyntia, we firmly believe ESG is the only way to consolidate an ethical, responsible and sustainable environment that facilitates social development and digital transformation within companies. As such, throughout 2021, we’ll continue to reinforce our ESG commitments, ensuring compliance with privacy and cybersecurity policies, making progress on equality, diversity and inclusion, working on reconciliation and wellbeing, contributing to reducing our carbon footprint and extending our approach to our suppliers and other environments.
