19 Dec lyntia’s advancements that redefined optical fibre and connectivity in 2025
The year 2025 has marked a turning point for the telecommunications sector and, in particular, for lyntia. In a context of increasing demand for capacity, advanced security, and international interconnection, the company’s strategy has focused on innovation and infrastructure expansion, redefining the value of optical fibre as the true engine of the digital economy. We review the milestones and launches that consolidated lyntia as a digital hub in Southern Europe.
Expansion and simplification: reinforcing the Iberian Digital Hub
lyntia’s growth strategy in 2025 focused on broadening geographical reach and simplifying access to critical services, fundamental pillars for the wholesale operator:
The new DWDM node in Marseille
lyntia consolidated its internationalisation strategy with the opening of the new DWDM node in Marseille. This key location, being the landing point for 17 submarine cables, turned lyntia’s new infrastructure into Europe’s gateway to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. This deployment offers a very low-latency route, simplifying the provision of intercontinental services through a single operator.
DC Connect: simplified cloud connectivity
To boost data centre interconnection, lyntia launched DC Connect. This solution facilitates secure and private interconnection between data centres and connectivity to the cloud, security providers, and artificial intelligence. DC Connect is now available in 100 data centres in the Iberian Peninsula, offering agility, operational efficiency, and MACsec encryption options.
Improvement and expansion of colocation and ILAs service
lyntia improved and expanded its Colocation service with new standardised functionalities for ILAs (In-Line Amplifiers). This update allows operators to host optical amplifiers on Dark Fibre routes across the Iberian Peninsula, benefiting from a shared infrastructure that reduces costs and offers immediate availability.
Leadership in innovation: quantum security and artificial intelligence
Investment in R&D focused on equipping the network with the intelligence and security necessary to face future challenges.
Pioneering post-quantum security with Quantum Safe
Anticipating the threat of quantum computing, lyntia launched Quantum Safe, a new advanced encryption option integrated into its Wavelength service. This technology uses cryptographic algorithms resistant to quantum attacks, ensuring the confidentiality of the most critical data.
Quantum security trials with strategic partners
lyntia collaborated with Juniper Networks, LuxQuanta, and Merqury Cybersecurity to successfully demonstrate a secure private quantum connection between local data centres and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This collaboration confirmed the viability of quantum-resistant networks, integrating lyntia’s infrastructure with Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems.
AI-driven network management and automation
lyntia accelerated the automation of its key processes with Oracle Communications solutions, enabling faster service delivery and automated orchestration processes. Furthermore, together with TelcoBrain, it successfully completed a proof-of-concept for next-generation network planning and analysis based on AI, optimising Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and sustainability and ESG commitments.
Recognition in cybersecurity
The commitment to security was reaffirmed by achieving 770 points in the BitSight index, a score that places lyntia among the organisations with the best security practices and risk management in the sector.
Conclusion: lyntia, the engine of future hyperconnectivity
The year 2025 has been fundamental for lyntia, demonstrating a solid commitment to innovation, security, and efficiency. From international expansion with the Marseille node to leadership in quantum security and Artificial Intelligence applied to network management, all advancements have been focused on guaranteeing a robust, scalable network prepared for the hyperconnectivity of the future. These milestones consolidate lyntia as the indispensable strategic partner for operators and businesses in Southern Europe.
