28 Oct lyntia opens a new DWDM node in Marseille
· This new node consolidates lyntia’s role as a digital hub between continents, unifying optical connectivity between Spain, Portugal and France through a single operator
Madrid, 28 October 2025 — lyntia, a leading wholesale telecommunications infrastructure operator in Spain and Portugal, announces the opening of a new DWDM node in Marseille (France), thereby consolidating its internationalisation strategy and its role as a digital hub between continents.
Marseille is one of the world’s data traffic hubs, hosting the landing of 17 subsea cables from Asia, Africa, America and the Middle East. This new infrastructure will enable high-capacity optical connectivity between Spain, Portugal and France through a single operator, thus simplifying the provision of intercontinental services.
This new node is equipped with state-of-the-art DWDM network equipment, which currently provides connectivity to Spain via one route, with several more planned for the future. The rollout will enable:
· High traffic capacity with services of up to 400 Gbps.
· Communications across the peninsula with very low latency.
· Greater security through traffic encryption.
· Unification of the same operator in three different countries.
“With our arrival in Marseille, we are taking a firm step towards our vision: to facilitate data transit between Europe and the rest of the world, simplifying management for our customers. This new node allows us to offer more direct routes with lower latency to major international hubs, strengthening the capillarity of our network and our ability to design customised connectivity solutions for each customer”.
— Fernando Conde, Product Manager of Optical Infrastructures lyntia
Vision for the future
The opening of this first node in France marks the beginning of an expansion strategy to provide high-quality connectivity to customers. The following steps will be to extend routes from Marseille to increase redundancy options and open new nodes in other locations in France and other countries.
In addition to DWDM equipment, the new Marseille PoP also incorporates MPLS equipment, enabling lyntia to extend its connectivity services and offer higher value-added solutions to its customers.
